The Department of Labour is seeking input on proposed amendments to the Approved Code of Practice for Training Operators and Instructors of Powered Industrial Lift Trucks (Forklifts). 

The reasons for the revision of this Code are:

• It contains out-of-date and erroneous information
• Legislative references need to be updated to reflect the 2003 amendments to the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992
• To consider new issues such as the effect of carbon monoxide (CO) emissions from power industrial lift trucks
• It is over ten years old.

Your feedback on the proposed amendments is requested.  You can also submit feedback on other parts of the Code not already identified for amendment.
