Border Security
In Border Security, no two days are ever the same!
From risk profiling passengers attempting to fly to New Zealand, to investigating a complex Immigration fraud matter, right through to verifying the supporting documents of a person's Immigration application - a career in Border Security is always challenging, exciting and rewarding.
Not only do you get to work with a really diverse range of colleagues, but you have the satisfaction of knowing that the work you do has significant impact on New Zealand.
The Compliance Officer's role onshore involves the investigation of breaches of the Immigration Act, and the RSE (Recognised Seasonal Employer) scheme supports seasonal industries in NZ with workers from our pacific neighbours.
Based in Wellington, our Intelligence Unit, Support Group and Profiling Unit look for emerging risks or opportunities. The information these groups provide are then used to support policy advice to Government.
All these jobs are done by people with a passion for protecting our country from the risks to Immigration while maximising the visitor's experience to New Zealand.
